Who Are We?
The Twinning Association is open to everyone and anyone. There are no pre-requisites other than the wish to socialise and perhaps help out occasionally with events.
There is no requirement for members to speak french or even go on the french trips since many members simply enjoy the Association's Hayling Island based social events. See below for information on how to join us, and for more information on the current organisation please look at our organisation page.
2019 Dinner
Twinning Association Annual Dinner
On Saturday 26th January 2019, thirty-six members of the Hayling Island Gorron Twinning Association attended the Association’s annual dinner at the Newtown House Hotel.
They were welcomed by President Averil Pollicott who outlined the programme of social events for 2019. She said that it is our turn to visit Gorron this year and preparations are well under way. A 42-seater coach has been booked for the long weekend from 3rd – 6th May. We are looking forward to celebrating 21 years of the Association with our French counterparts.
Twinners enjoyed a three-course dinner choosing in advance what they wanted to eat. Coffee and a half bottle of wine per person were included. The food and service were excellent and special thanks to Fiona, the banqueting manager, for a great evening.
Conversation was animated and the atmosphere was relaxed. Thanks to Dudley and Allan for organising this very enjoyable event.
We returned to the Newtown for the second year in a row due to the perfect suitability of the room and the value for money pricing.
